AMS HQ Update from Sunday & Monday

We are busy at the HQ and are now just catching up with the blog, sorry for the delay in posts here, we are doing our best.

AMS TEAMS RETURNING TO FROM THE MOUNTAINS: 


On Sunday the skies cleared and the air taxis returned our climbers back to Talkeetna, hooray!

AMS Guide Winslow Passey returned SAturday night from a custom climb in the Pika with Traci and David.  They had a great time and still had plenty of energy.

Guide Melis Coady, Tracy, Jody and Guide Forest Wagner

AMS Guide Forest Wagner returned on Saturday night with his 5/21 Denali West Buttress team.  The weather was not ideal for a summit bid but they had an amazing sucessful expedition.  They enjoyed the fresh fruit and the warmer weather back here in Talkeetna.

The Kahiltna Dome/Denali Prep returned right on schedule.  They all enjoyed themselves and said they learned lots! AMS Instuctors, Greg and Sean will have just a couple of days of down time and then leave for more climbing and wilderness trips.

AMS DENALI SKILLS WORKSHOP IN TALKEETNA:

On Sunday we also had a Denali Skills Workshop for climbers who began their Denali Expedition  on Monday.  AMS Instructors Melis Coady and Todd Tumolo conducted the course while guides Mike Hamill and Alex Stroud finished preparation for the expedition.


AMS TEAMS GOING INTO THE MOUNTAINS:

AMS Guides Mike Hamill and Alex Stroud had their team ready to head over to the airport ahead of schedule.  The team enjoyed a great lunch and had a good day finalizing their gear, food, and paperwork before heading to Denali.  They headed to the Talkeetna airport and after a short delay flew to basecamp.

AMS Guide Dan Corn and his team flew to the Pika for a 28 day custom climb Monday night.  The team got an early start with gear check,  packing lunch and NPS visit.  They were looking forward to an awesome adventure and lots of climbing!
