Denali Update

Despite somewhat sunny skies here in Talkeetna, base camp is socked in with fog so D'Alessio's 5/20 team was not able to fly out nor was Bunch's 6/3 team able to fly in yesterday.

Kahiltna Base Camp becomes an international city climbers from around the world with several languages being spoken. If it snows a lot then everybody there has to get out and pack the runway; a task people are more than happy to do!

There are over 100 people waiting to fly out! Here's some pictures from a couple years ago when I had to do some waiting and runway packing. ~blogger laura

Lots of people waiting to fly out.

Packing the runway...a very important task!

What a good surprise to see my red Hilleberg tent in the first picture! The girl in the red vest is my girlfriend during our Denali 2011 climb! My friend Derek is in Mark Postle team right now...
