Denali West Buttress and West Rib Team Update

All of the AMS Denali West Buttress Teams are doing well.  AMS teams are keeping with the theme this season and waiting for the winds to decrease high on Denali, and now for the fresh snowfall to settle.  All teams are well and are in good spirits.

AMS 5/18 Denali, West Buttress led by Larry Holmgren and Nate Emerson moved down from high camp, 17,200 yesterday and began their descent to base camp last night.   We look forward to their return to Talkeetna, TONIGHT!

AMS 5/25 Denali, West Buttress lead by Todd Tumolo and Jeremiah Phelps are resting today at the 14,200' camp.

AMS 5/26 Denali, West Buttress Custom Team led by Colby Coombs and Michael Gardener  broke camp at 16,200' yesterday and planned to move to high camp at 17,200'.  Alas, they were turned around during their move due to the wind yesterday and are moving toward base camp tonight.

AMS 5/27 Denali, West Buttress Team led by Dusty Eroh and Curtis Green are resting today at 14,200'.

AMS 5/29 Denali, West Buttress team led by Alex Stroud and Scott Patch remain at 11,000' and plan to move to 14,200' soon. They carried to Windy Corner today.

AMS 6/1 Denali, West Buttress led by Mark Postle, Chelsea Bomba and Chris Welch moved to 11,000' today.  They have been delayed at 7,800' with several feet of snowfall. they are feeling strong and moved well today.

AMS WEST RIB led by Josh Hoeschen and Kai Girard are at 7,800', they are feeling strong and moving well, as expected!


Basecamp with clearing skies and lots of climbers awaiting to fly back to Talkeetna.
