June 18 AMS Mountain Update: a bit stormy

All is well in the Alaska Range with AMS teams.

AMS 6/1 Denali led by Wes Bunch and Chris Welch  and AMS 6/2 West Rib Denali led by Kai Girard departed together from 14,200' camp this afternoon and are making their way towards basecamp.  they are traveling in a  AMS pack for maximum good times and to help with trail breaking in fresh snow.  They experienced a windy, Windy corner on their way around!  All are well. We expect to see them in Talkeetna when the weather clears and the planes can fly in to pick them up.

AMS 6/5, Denali led by Rob Gowler and John Sykes remain at 17,200' high camp today. They continued to fortify their camp with thick snow walls and they have plenty of food and fuel to last well beyond this storm system, which may be effecting the higher elevations on Denali through Monday.
