AMS Mountain Update June 8

It was weathery in the Alaska Range today. Nothing too major going on - just enough to allow for a rest / weather day for many teams.

Currently at 14,200' and awaiting the weather to clear are two AMS teams:
The 5/28 West Buttress Expedition led by Larry Holmgren and
The 5/27 West Buttress " Team Lucy" Expedition led by Wes Bunch. They report that they are enjoying a rest / weather day today as was a whiteout and windy in  14,200' camp today.

White out conditions, these climbers are pretty much inside a cloud.

The 6/4 West Buttress expedition led by Jeremiah Phelps are doing well.  Weather permitting, they planned to move to 11,000', camp 2, today and we are looking forward to hearing more about their day. Despite the over cast weather, they may have been able to move upwards, as they are on night schedule. Stay tuned for details.

The 6 Day Mountaineering Course led by Instructor Kai Girard report that they had a super day filled with classes and an initial explorations on the Pika Glacier yesterday. Today they reported rain this morning on the glacier so they are enjoying camp life and learning to cook an perennial mountain  favorite cheesy hash browns.
