Custom Denali - PEAKS for Pia Begins!

A really great custom Denali Expedition began today. The Peaks for Pia expedition, led by Nickel Wood and Luke Piatt, with a mother-son team, Nicole and Marco, has been working hard and feels well prepared for this amazing climb. 

They had a full day today with NPS briefing, gear check, lunch packing, and after a hearty lunch at the HQ, loaded the van and headed to Talkeetna Air Taxi for the flight onto the Kahiltna Glacier. 

They will spend the night at the Kahiltna Glacier base camp at 7,200 feet and head out to the First Camp at 7,800 feet.
